State inspectors checked 18 Weston food businesses in October and 15 ended in the clear, with no emergency orders. Six fixed earlier problems. Full list.
State inspectors made 20 visits to 18 restaurants, cafes, bakeries and food trucks with a Weston address between Oct. 1 and Oct. 30. At 15 of them, the latest visit of the month ended in the clear.
No Weston business had an emergency order in October. Six places that had problems on an earlier visit passed their callback inspection. Three ended the month with a warning or a recommended administrative complaint still open.
The figures come from the food service inspection file for District 2, which covers Broward County. The Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation’s Division of Hotels and Restaurants publishes it. Our copy was downloaded Oct. 31 and lists inspections through Oct. 30. Florida does not score or grade restaurants. Each visit records a count of violations and an outcome.
October in numbers
The file holds 20 inspections at 18 licensed Weston establishments in October:
- 13 were first visits: 11 routine inspections, one prompted by a complaint and one licensing inspection of a new business.
- Seven were callbacks, return visits to check that problems had been fixed.
Of the 13 first visits, nine ended with no further action, one with a warning and three with an administrative complaint recommended. Across Broward County, 697 of 1,011 first visits in October ended with no further action, the same file shows. That is 69%, the same share as in Weston. Inspectors recommended 13 emergency orders elsewhere in the county during the month.
Taking each establishment’s most recent result in October:
| Latest result | Establishments |
|---|---|
| Inspection completed, no further action | 9 |
| Callback, complied | 6 |
| Warning issued, callback not yet recorded | 1 |
| Administrative complaint recommended | 1 |
| Callback, administrative complaint recommended | 1 |
We count only businesses the state lists with a Weston location. Some places along Weston Road and Griffin Road carry a Davie or Sunrise address in the file and are not included.
Problems fixed
Four places that had a warning or a recommended complaint over the summer passed callbacks in October:
- Cafe Bastille Weston, 1660 Market St., on Oct. 12. The state recorded no violations. An administrative complaint had been recommended on its routine visit Aug. 11.
- Guacatacos, 2203 N. Commerce Parkway, on Oct. 5, with two violations, none high priority. It had a recommended complaint Aug. 3.
- Hila Healthy Coffee, 2382 Weston Road, on Oct. 14, with two violations, none high priority. Its Aug. 14 visit ended in a warning, with 11 violations, five of them high priority.
- Olenka Peruvian Bistro, 2246 Weston Road, on Oct. 26, with one violation. Its Aug. 24 visit ended in a warning, with 15 violations, five of them high priority.
Two restaurants had a complaint recommended on a routine visit and passed a callback the next day:
- Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza, 4527 Weston Road, inspected Wednesday, Oct. 28, with eight violations, four high priority. The callback Oct. 29 recorded one violation and the outcome “complied.”
- Graziano’s Gourmet, 1721 Main St., also inspected Oct. 28, with 13 violations, seven high priority. The callback Oct. 29 recorded one violation, high priority, and the outcome “complied.”
Still open at the end of the month
These are the places whose latest October result was not yet closed, as the state recorded it. The file does not show a later visit for any of them.
| Establishment | Date | Type | Result | High-priority / total violations |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| El Club de la Milanesa, 1760 Bell Tower Lane | Oct. 22 | Routine | Warning issued | 6 / 14 |
| Little Hen, 4579 Weston Road | Oct. 20 | Routine | Administrative complaint recommended | 3 / 7 |
| Arepa Magnet Plus, 16644 Saddle Club Road | Oct. 5 | Callback | Administrative complaint recommended | 0 / 3 |
Little Hen also had a complaint recommended on its routine visit July 23. Arepa Magnet Plus’s October visit was a callback after a recommended complaint Aug. 5. El Club de la Milanesa had a warning after a complaint inspection July 22 and complied on a callback Sept. 21.
A warning means the inspector set a deadline to fix the violations and will return. “Administrative complaint recommended” means the inspector sent the case to the division’s legal staff. Any fine comes later through the division’s own process, and the business can contest it. That can still happen at a place that later passed a callback.

These ended with no further action:
- Bonefish Grill, 4545 Weston Road, Oct. 28, four violations, none high priority

- Sodexo Magic, 2250 N. Commerce Parkway, Oct. 23, no violations
- The Mexican Taco Truck, 790 Ranch Road, Oct. 12, two violations, one high priority

- Slice, 2600 Glades Circle, Suite 1100, Oct. 30, at its licensing inspection as a new business, one violation, none high priority
The file does not say why no follow-up was set where high-priority violations were recorded. The full report, on the state’s license search, lists each violation in the inspector’s words.
What it means for you
An inspection is a snapshot of conditions on the day of one visit. It is not a rating of the food, and a later visit can find something different.
- Look up any restaurant’s full report, including what each violation was, with the state’s license and inspection search.
- Report a food safety problem online through the Division of Hotels and Restaurants or by calling 850-487-1395. A complaint can lead to an unannounced inspection, as one did at a Weston bakery in October.
